going-to-future - form
how you build the going-to-future:
positive and negative statements:
a form of “be” in the simple present + going to + infinitive
–> am + going to + infinitive
are + going to + infinitive
is + going to + infinitive
e.g. I am going to leave. (+)
She is going to leave. (+)
We are going to leave. (+)
You are not going to leave. (-)
They are not going to leave. (-)
questions:
The form of “be” is swapped by the personal pronoun (I, you, he, she, it, we, you, they).
e.g. Am I going to walk?
Are you going to walk?
Is he going to walk?
Aren’t you going to walk?
Isn’t she going to walk?
!!!Attention!!! There is no short form of “am”. Then you have to use the long form and say:
Am I not going to walk?
!!!Attention!!!
Don’t mix up the verb “go“!
